Design Strategy | Summer 2023

Relish Works is an innovation hub for Gordon Food Service dedicated to discovering the future of the food service industry. While interning with Relish Works’ innovation team I was apart of three different interdisciplinary projects.

CHANGING DEMOGRAPHICS

  • How might we adjust to changing demographics in the food service industry?

    A research project to encourage GFS to cater to more international cuisine options.

  • Worked on secondary research and synthesis and assisted with final deck design deliverables.

TASTE AGENT

  • How might we seamlessly connect social media influencers with restaurant operators?

    An app venture created to connect social media influencers with restaurant operators by exchanging free meals for promotional content.

  • Worked on initial wireframe style guides in Figma, helped decide on the final design direction, participated in workshops to enhance the final product.

HOUSTON STORES

  • How might we encourage more restaurant operators to shop at the Gordon Food Service stores in Houston, Texas

    A research project focusing on how GFS's new stores can stand out from the existing store competition in Houston.

  • Traveled to Houston to participate in interview intercepts and onsight observation. Designed the visual system for the deck we presented and helped work through additional research synthesis.

User Experience Research | Fall 2022

Grand Studio is a digital and strategic design consultancy firm that works for Fortune 500 clients and specializes in UX/UI design, product strategy, and qualitative research. While interning at Grand Studio I was a part of 3 different research projects all with the same undisclosed client.

FUTURE OF CONVENIENCE

  • How might we re-envision the future of the convenience store and gas station experience?

    A 1-month deep-dive into the United States convenience store retail shopping landscape and shopper behavior.

  • Jumped onto the project halfway through, assisted the team with research synthesis and worked on the presentation deck.

FUTURE OF EVENT EXPERIENCE

  • How might we re-envision the future of the event retail experience

    A 3-month deep-dive into the United States’ and United Kingdom’s event retail shopping landscape and shopper behavior.

  • Did front-hand research on stadium event experiences in the United Kingdom, and participated in on-site research in the United States. Assisted team with research synthesis, in-depth interviews, and diary studies.

FUTURE OF TRAVEL RETAIL

  • How might we re-envision the future of the travel experience

    A 3-month deep-dive into the United States’ and United Kingdom’s travel retail shopping landscape and shopper behavior

  • Created a literature review and competitive audit for our primary shareholder. Assisted team with research synthesis, in-depth interviews, and diary studies.
